Tropical orchestra Puerto Rican Power was formed by bassist Jesús Castro in the early '70s, soon granting its leadership to trumpet player Luisito Ayala. In 1983, singer Tito Rojas joined in, starting a new stage in the Puerto Rican salsa history. After reaching an agreement with musical production, Puerto Rican Power recorded Canta Tito Rojas, Con Más Poder, and the successful Con Todo El Poder, released in 1992, featuring the hit single A Donde Iras. Vocalist Tito Rojas was in virtual obscurity for three years until the arrival of this opportunity. The Puerto Rican Power, under the leadership of trumpet player Luisito Ayala, became one of the most traveled and continuously popular salsa orchestras outside the island. This is still the Orchestra's best album, by far, featuring the standouts Amor de Mentira, Noche de Boda, Quiéreme Tal Como Soy, Tres Mujeres, and No Estoy.
