Industry was an American new wave band formed in 1978 in New York City as Industrial Complex, their name later changing to Industry. In 1981, the band became commercial but disbanded three years later. Their only well known album was Stranger to Stranger, released in 1984 which included the hit single, State of the Nation. Due to some pop ballads on their 1984 album, the band has been dubbed as The American Spandau Ballet. 19781981 1978 as Industrial Complex, 1979 as Industry. Industry - Industry 1980. This album is unique in the sense that it was composed with the intent of being a soundtrack to a book of the same name penned by Nick Phoenix, the first in a proposed series. It is also unique in that, unlike previous albums, it reuses its melodies in later tracks in the manner of a film score. For example, Talia's Theme is restated in a slower, more hesitant way at about 6:50 in the track Reanne. Music Industry 3. Fitness Industry 1.
